Mention the word bootcamp and I am often met with screwed up faces and a few groans thrown in for good measure.

Most of the people I have spoken to in the past haven’t even been to one. Yet they seem to conjure up images of military personnel barking orders at clients thanks to the various TV shows depicting weight loss boot camps. Therefore I have decided to do my own little expose on the bootcamp I am currently on – the first ever UK Body and Mind Camp held in Belford Northumberland. The boot camp heavily emphasises on the importance of using the mind to aid weightloss and getting into shape and staying fit.

It took two trains and no less than seven hours to get up to this part of the world so I was tired by the time I arrived. But there was only enough time to have a quick look around this amazing country manor of a house called Middleton Hall and my massive luxury bedroom before getting an MOT from lead trainer and practitioner Warren Millington. I am weighed, have my blood pressure checked, am measured around the thigh, waist and arm and have my fat content noted. The boot camp promises fat loss of up to seven pounds of fat in a week. I won’t get into the nitty gritty of popping my measurements down but I will let you know how much I have lost over the course of my four days stay.
